Big News! Jillibean Design Team Announcement

So I am very pleased and incredibly honored to share this news below:

I know it was so hard to keep the secret. I am over the moon excited to be part of such an amazingly talented design team!

Speaking of altered Jillibean projects I also have an article that just published on Scrapjazz.com using altered cigar boxes. One features Jillibean Macho Nacho and the other is BoBunny Weekend Market. You can find the article here: Make an Altered Masculine Gift

Here are a couple close ups of the Jillibean one:
Hope you like the projects, they were gifts for our Fathers for Father's day. So much fun to "upcycle" everyday objects that you can find at flea markets or Goodwill stores. Have a Fabulous Weekend!

5th Anniversary Getaway

So Scott and I were blessed to be able to sneak in a weekend getaway this past weekend to our favorite B&B in Logan, Ohio. It is called the Georgian Manner and it is right on Lake Logan in Hocking Hills area. We originally honeymooned in Hocking Hills so it is perfect for us. We have completely fallen in love with the place, and have become friends with the owners too. I just wanted to share pictures from our weekend.

It started out perfectly with a rare Mama deer and twin babies spotting a mile from our final destination

So much waterfowl to enjoy, here is one of the swans. There was also lots of Canadian Geese, ducks, White Egrets and blue herons.

Then awaiting the delivery of our room key Scott entertained with a private piano concert on the lake in the pavilion; Yes I know I am spoiled. :)

Two unexpected concert attendees.

The view from our room's balcony.

Pic of us at the Conkles Hollow trailhead.

Photo from Conkles Hollow hike.

End of the Conkles Hollow Gorge trail.

A happy caterpillar we encountered along the way.

View of the manner from the canoe on the lake.

Us enjoying a canoe ride and some fishing.

On the way home we had an official Indy 500 pace car, lol.

We also enjoyed a dinner out with the owners at our favorite local restaurant, Millstone BBQ our other favorite is the Chinese Grand Buffet in Logan. I did sneak in a little shopping, at the Glass outlet and the Antique Mall, really love that place.

All good things must come to an end, but it was an amazing weekend and we can't wait to go back next year! The owner also would like Scott to come play piano at events occasionally so we are very excited about that too. Special thanks to Grandma Nancy for watching Gabriel all weekend  and to my fabulous inlaws for the wonderful Anniversary gift that arrived yesterday, an I-Need Shiatsu Back Massager. My how we did need that. :)

Moxie Fab Gingham Challenge & Coconut Lime Cards

So I wanted to join in over at Moxie Fab to their "Gingham" Challenge. I am a country girl at heart you know, and gingham is definitely my style.  So I pulled out my favorite new Jillibean Soup papers, Coconut Lime Soup and started playing. The challenge was to use gingham in an innovative way so this is the card I entered into the challenge:
I used a punched out scrap and made it into a banner piece and then layered a contrast color under it.

This is another of my favorites of the group, it reminds me of a summer farmer's market:
Materials Used: Jillibean Soup/Coconut Lime Soup paper, pods, stickers & Bite Size Bits; Jillibean Soup/Butterfly Sugar Pick; Want 2 Scrap/red gemstones; Jillibean Soup/Red Baker's Twine
I was also lucky enough to get to teach a Jillibean Soup Card Class in Lancaster, Ohio at the Grand Re-opening of Scrapbooks 2 Cherish this weekend. I really enjoyed it and got to meet some wonderful ladies there. One of the cards we did in class was by Summer Fullerton:

and I decided to do a few variations of that card, it is very versatile. Here are my interpretation of Summer's original:

I am really loving the summery color combo of this line right now. Let me know what you think of these cards! Hope you have a berry sweet day!

Anyhow, I just wanted to share some sneak peeks of an article I did that is up over at Scrapjazz.com. It is an altered frame for my Mom for Mother's Day using Websters pages paper, Maya Road chipboard & trim and some vintage buttons. It started out as a $.25 frame I bought at a garage sale! In the article there is a step by step tutorial on how to do it, it really isn't hard- just takes a little time and patience. Here are some close-up sneak peeks:

Materials used available at the end of the article on Scrapjazz.com, see link below.
