First Day of 3rd Grade/ Creative Scrappers Sketch Challenge

So I have given up on trying to catch up on my blog and decided to restart with current events. A big one occurred last week with Gabriel's return to school, as a 3rd grader no less! He looked very handsome and a little too grown up...

I decided to scrap a school theme  page for fun and join in on a sketch challenge over at Creative Scrappers blog.

Here is the sketch that is up this month, (go to the link above if you want to play along):

So I flipped the sketch a quarter turn and created the layout below:
Materials Used: NEW-Jillibean Soup- Shades of Color collection, papers, peapods and coordinating stickers

I thought this collection worked very well for a school layout! I loved these two photos most, he has the sweetest smile in the first and was still not too cool to hold Daddy's hand on the way to school. Priceless moments that I am so happy to have captured,  he is growing up too fast.

I hope your school year starts with lots of smiles too! Have a great week!

Happy NSD!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day! Just wanted to share that Jillibean Soup is celebrating NSD too including sketches, challenges and giveaways, check them out here.

For the event I created a layout based on this sketch by Kristine Davidson:

This photo of my son just makes me laugh, such an indicator of his playful spirit. He is a little crazy, no idea where he gets it from, 😏.

Here is the photo by itself, so that you get the full effect:

Enjoy your weekend!

Catching Up- February 2017

So I am still playing catch up and wanted to share an update from February of this year. This is a big month for us, 2 Birthdays- Zac & Aspen. Also Valentines Day which just happens to also be Scotts sobriety date, he hit 11 years sober on 2/14!! So proud of him, holding strong to his commitment to God and his family. To celebrate the birthdays we even got to take an overnight trip to Cincy. So here are some pics of the highlights:

We even braved the bridge over the shark tank!

Overall February was very busy, but lots of fun! I will share some projects in next post. Have a wonderful Easter Weekend!

Playing Catch Up- January 2017

Well I realized I had not posted in a long time so I wanted to share an update of January to try and begin to catch up. We have had a busy 2017 so far, full of lots of fun. Gabe's Birthday of course hits at the end of every year in December - here is a colorful double layout from his Birthday Party this year. We took 4 eight year olds to Sky Zone, that was an adventure- they were great and had tons of fun.

Then along came January I got to go to CHA or Creativation as they call it nowit is the big trade show of the year for the crafting industry. There I had lots of fun with the Jillibean team working their booth and doing demo's in the Hampton booth. Here are a couple pics:

One of the new Hampton Art layered stamp sets that I did demos with.

But even bigger news in January was our newest edition to the family. Our new dog Wiley! As in Wil E. Coyote, and yes he is very wiley. He is a Husky mix that we adopted from the Humane Society. He is awesome and we are so happy to have him!
Who could resist this face?

Someone has figured out how to use bench to jump up and say hello in the kitchen window. A song comes to mind every time: How much is that Doggy in the Window?  :)

So all of this happened in the end of December or January. I will update you with a very busy February soon!
